These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. Commercial advertising is not allowed in any form, including using in signatures. 3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum. 4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks. 5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit or used for commercial advertising. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban. 13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. 15. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. We hope your visit is helpful and mutually beneficial to the entire community. |

Though your anger might be somwhow understandable, do you really believe that you'll get any serious help here with such an attitude? Besides that this is the Gnutella Forums and NOT the Limewire LLC. forum..... You might have seen my edit in your post and I do not need to further point this out !! As for your problem. It could have many reasons. Since you say that music files download just fine, we can assume that it is neither a connection problem coming from your machine, nor a corruption problem with the preference folder. Could it be that you've (by accident) enabled the Content Filter (Go LW>Tools>Options>Filters>Content)? To learn what this feature does, you can read here: http://filtered.limewire.com/learnmo...tentFiltering/ Another reason could be that the host(s) that share your file require from the uploader to share a minimum of files and if you do not fulfil this criteria you might be blocked from downloading it. Most common reasons for "Need Sources" are: Hosts not online, Hosts have -renamed, -deleted, -moved the file(s) The file(s) are faked hosted to discourage P2P users from downloading copyright protected files. A wise friend of mine once said: Patience is a virtue,....with computers it's a necessity. I personally have many files in my download window waiting for many days already to catch the host of that file. Of course there is a faster way for you and me to get those files,......going to the shop and buy them ! So, you better learn to control your emotions when dealing with computers, or you choose my latter suggestion.......Cheers !!

lmao btw so i am not allowed to get annoyed with a programme now without people taking offence?. however thank you foolofthehill for trying to help me, i do appreciate it, however only a hobo, you need to spend less time away from your pc, and more time with humans and emotions. for a start btw, the only reason most people are using limewire is to copyright, and if you dont know this already your not as pc clued up as you think. and to take a comment about an effin computer programme so to heart is really really sad. i was annoyed cos i was PAYING FOR THIS **** PROGRAMME, so ur smarmy, oh-so witty theory was shot out the water hobo, and im sure you'll all get annoyed with your machine from time to time, and i didnt offend anyone directly i was talking about limewire, a computer programme, c.o.m.p.u.t.e.r programme...am i gettin through to you at all??? also it seems im not the only person on these forums having problems with 'excellent' limewire. and like i said, im not downloading new movies, im trying to download older ones (which ive already seen, so i dont need to go and buy it) and would like to be able to get them from limewire, bearshare, soulseek as most of the users of these programmes are doing. come on for god sake, the ratio of people acctually paying to use limewire, and the ones who arent, deffinately favours the latter. im going to try and get advice about this elsewhere, from human beings who know its okay to lose your patience with a pc, after all its just a pc and wont kill you in your sleep cos you shouted at it. |

You're wrong my friend, it's not a computer who has to read your angry words, it's people like Only A Hobo and many others including me, who spend their spare time offering help to those with problems regarding the P2P Gnutella Network. But you come here, disrespect our rules as well as us with your thoughtless outburst, using us as your emotional garbage and not realizing that you've come to the wrong place to complain. So I guess I speak in the name of many of us when I say that I appreciate your idea to look for help somewhere else. The last thing what we need here are ignorant, selfcentered people without any sense for socially correct behaviour, who lack the proper education from their parents; in simple words, people like you !! Cheers.

Jojo1984, When you downloaded Limewire you clicked a little option to say you would not use it to download copyrighted materials. It doesn't matter what other people use it for, that's irrelevant. YOU said you wouldn't. Just because other people may do it doesn't make it right or any more legal, if you paid for the software or not. People do lose patience sometimes, but if you've lost your patience at your PC, that's no excuse to come on to these forums and whine / get annoyed at anyone that doesn't want to hear you whine like a spoilt child. Use a bit of common courtesy and you're bound to get more help to solve your problem. |
