![]() My computer has a 100.0 Mbps connection. If definately has the capacity to download at least 1-200 kbs. It will download at this speed for a few minutes. After a few minutes have passed, it will slow down to about 20kbs. It will stay at 20-30kbs for like 20 minutes and then go back up to 100kbs for a few minutes and then back down again. I have searched the forums for possible solutions. I have reinstalled limewire, deleted the .limewire folder, and allowed it on my firewall program. I am using Norton and do not see a firewall icon on limewire. I have read in some of the forums about isp's limiting or blocking p2p programs. Would anyone know if cebridge is limited or how I would go about finding out. Thanks Some stats: Dell 4300s processor: pentium 4 1.5 gig o.s.: XP(service pack 2) home RAM: 512 ddr antivirus: norton isp: cebridge cable |

![]() I couldn't find anything to say that Cebridge are definitely traffic shaping but if you have a look at their Acceptable Use Policy http://www.cebridge.net/cebridge/ctl...bout_us/aus.vm it does say that they'll take action if a customer's using too much bandwidth. Give their help desk a call & find out exactly what their policy is for p2p use ![]() You might find some more info on Google (I just had a very quick look)... search for Cebridge Cable traffic shaping, or Cebridge cable p2p... something like that! |

![]() Also the advertized speeds can be deceptive. Do a couple speedtests to get a better idea of what your speeds should be: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/speedtest/ For me limewire doesn't max out my dowload bandwidth with one d/l. I usually have to have a couple going with decent sources. My max is about 180KB/s.

![]() I did both speed tests and my download speed rated a 236 and 245kbps. It doesn't matter if I have one download or 30 going at the same time; my computer always exibhits the symptoms listed above. As far as contacting cebridge, I have not had a chance to do so yet. |
