Connecting.... unable to find sources hey i have had limewire for a fairly long time now its my most trusted downloading programe its amazing but very recently i have been tryin 2 download videos and all i get is awaiting connection...... then its cannot find sources so i right click find resources and it gives a countdown timer and it just doesn't work! i have checked my filter, firewall, connection speed and everything else i can think of please help me as i said its my fav programe :) i have applied the patch at the top of the forum so yea please help me :D |
. I'm not an expert on limewire, but if i were you, i would try searching for that movie again, and see if the same one you're trying to download is in you search box, if it isn't, then that's why it isn't downloading. i have tried to download movies with only one source, and i get what you're describing, but then i try to download it from another source, and it usually works. |
well no i tried downloading the ones with plenty of sources and yea its no good i tried everything and yea i mean everythin i now a fair bit bout computers 4 my age so i tried all i no so yea please help me and yea :D |
There are fake files around now which typically have heaps of sources, but will never connect. Search again, try the All Types search as well as Video, stay away from files with huge numbers of sources. I go for a file with 10 sources or less. Look up files before download with Bitzi. If the file's been rated then you'll get an idea of content & quality. A file with lots of sources but no Bitzi rating is quite possibly a fake! How to use Bitzi :) |
done all that aswell even gone as low as 1 source and checked it on bitzi and it says not found so yea no luck at the minuite still any help any1 can offer would be appreciated |
re- awaiting sources... I usually find that when all the video downloads i have waiting have gone to the 'awaiting sources' status, if i click 'clear inactive', then go into the library tab + click 'incomplete files', and locate these videos in the list of files, right click and choose resume on them, it usually sort of kick-starts some of them + can speed up the process a bit. not always but worth a try. |
Tried and once again nothing happened mate this is turning out to be pointless it used to work fine plz anymore ideas |
For some people, if they can't find it listed on Bitzi then they ignore it. This is a similar issue discussed: Turbo-Charged Connection but can't download. In other words, try searching the file using different search terms. You may find you get different results but the same underlying file & results that list genuine files & not the spammed fake file results. If you use the search function at Bitzi, you may even find it listed under a slightly different file name from what you expected. |
