Movie Doesn't play!!!

I'm new to Limewire and i recently downloaded an avi file. It didn't play on windows becausse it didn't support the codec. So, i browsed the forums and i saw that someone had the same problem as me and was suggested to download VideoLAN. However this player also didn't play the movie.

If VLC doesn't play it then, chances are that it's just a bad file. VLC is usually very reliable. Did you look up the movie with Bitzi before download?
How to use Bitzi

If a file's been rated, you'll get an idea of content & quality. A file with lots of sources but no Bitzi rating is often a fake.

I like to keep things on the simple side, anyways why the movie didn't work is because you have missing codecs. Anyways try this www.k-litecodecpack.com and then try playing the file. If it doesn't work after downloading and installing these codecs then it is most likely the file is corrupted.

you have to drag and drop the movie file onto your desktop than go under windows media player and go under file>open>desktop>(movie file)

you have to do this if its not mpg or mpeg

I had the same problem, the movie just frozzen, showing just a blank picture.

I finally fixed my problem by doing the following
1 Go to Start ==> Run ==> and type in "cmd"
2 First, type in: regsvr32 -u C:\windows\system32\l3codecx.ax
3 Then type in: regsvr32 C:\windows\system32\l3codecx.ax

hope this helps you too:idea:
