downloading songs but won't play them

it will download songs but it will not play them. not even in windows media player, what is going on, how can i fix this???

Have you tried using other players besides WMP?
Try playing with VLC player or Winamp & see what happens.
Does this happen with all songs you've downloaded?
There's a chance you might have downloaded some junk... be wary of files marked MP3, Mp3 instead of mp3.
