Windows 95 User, cannot connect to limewire Good Afternoon Members; This is my first post! I have used Limewire for the last 2 years and no issues. UNTIL My computer quit on me, so I picked up an older computer that has windows 95 on it and I tried to install limewire, which I did install it .....but it will not load, the limewire green screen comes up then it disappears. Not sure what is happening, maybe Limewire will not run on windows 95??? Maybe I do not have enough memory/ram to run it? I have closed ALL programs running in the background and still nothing..My next step it to add more SD sticks and see what happens, in the meantime I could certainly use som,e suggestions. IS there an earlier version of Limewire I should download for windows 95 or a BASIC Limewire download I could try?? Please advise ASAP, I really miss using this great program! Thank's in advance for your help and your replies :) Rebecca |
Windows 95 is an 11 year old Operating System which Microsoft no longer even provides support for. I wouldn't even bother updating a PC that old, it isn't worth it. For $400.00 you can get a brand new Dell desktop PC running Windows XP which will run LimeWire perfectly. The Windows 95 box has got to go. Good luck!!! :) Quote:

Hes right, LimeWire barely runs good on Windows 98 2nd Edition, no way it will run on 95... go for the new CPU with XP. |
