Opening LimeWire Problem
 

Hello every-one ,
My name is Tiana (I'm really new to this Forum).
Basicly my problem with Limewire is :
Well I've been trying to download and download again too try and make it work but it is not working!!!! I downloaded 'Limewire free/Basic' from the www.Limewire.com site and basicly When I open it up it says in a box :


One or more necessary files appear to be invalid.
This is generally caused by a corrupted installation.
Please try downloading and installing Limewire again.
If the problem persists , please visit www.Limewire.com and click 'Support' link.

Remove your current version of Java & reinstall the JRE using the offline installer here
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

Now try reinstalling LW using it's offline installer (it should uninstall the old version automatically)

How did you get there?

On the main page, scroll down to JRE 5.0 update 8. Click on the blue download box. Now you'll come to the JRE download page... accept the license agreement & click on "Windows Offline Installation, multi-language". You'll get the download box popping up & off you go....;)


I told you in my first post to take the JRE offline installer!!! You're using Windows XP so you'd choose the Windows offline installer.
