Disk Error

I've been using LimeWire 4.8 for quite awhile now because every version prior to that has given me some bullshit message whenever I try to download anything. It'll connect but within a few seconds it will say "Disk Error" and stop.

I'm using Windows 2000 and running ZoneAlarm firewall if that matters at all.

I've used the search feature on these forums but the only thing I could manage to find on these boards was a thread about someone receiving this message because they ran out of space on their harddrive and I sure as hell am not running out of space :(

Help would REALLY be appreciated.

Thanks.

What Birdy is saying is that you should follow each of her links and read the threads. Very basically you may need to defragment your drive, or reduce your downoad queue by removing unnecessary incomplete files, also remove any files you have previewed before completion. In truth we have not found a definitive answer to this problem, and so any feedback we get is helpful!!!

This post, in one of the above links could also hold the answer, if it might apply to you. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...44&postcount=2

I tried configing limewire to use a different folder and it didn't work. My incomplete folder is empty and I don't think I need to defrag my harddrive because LimeWire 4.8 and lower work fine. I only started having problems with the new versions.

If there isn't a definite answer to this problem yet then I might as well reinstall my old version and continue to use that.

Thanks anyway though.
