![]() I'm trying to share some artwork but people are unable to access them. I'm on Win2000, use Sygate Persanal Firewall. Everything seems to be set according to instructions I found in Limewire. under the Applications, Sygate allows Limewire. The folders are showing in my library but I have yet to have any uploads, and friends can't access the files or find them in Search when they key the filensmae, with or without the file extension. Am I doing something wrong? |

![]() Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? If yes, then that's probably why. The best way to share files is using magnet links. Once someone starts downlding using one of your magnet links, you can browse them (hopefully), & they can browse you. How to use Magnet Links Stief is the best one to ask about sharing artistic works such as photos or 3d work, etc. Stief is a member (& FrostWire mod) of the forums. Though he also uses LW Pro. You are aware you can describe your art works aren't you?!? Using the Describe function from the Library window. Describing them will make them easier to find for others searching. Use keywords that will make them easier to find. |

![]() Thanks LOTR! You Rock! I tried the magnetic link thing and was able to activate my Limewire. I really need this to get huge tif files to my clients for rush jobs. I'll look into the Describe function, too. But I'm still a little concerned that others can't access my files. Limewire's been good to me and I'd like to repay folks by making some of my printable images available. I also write my own music (Techno Tribal Jazz) and would like to share it. I do have the little firewall in front of my world Icon. If I read you right, that wall has to be gone in order to make my files accessible? I went to Sygate but that was no help. I did find a site that listed files that my firewall needed to allow in Win2000, and some of those files weren't even listed in Sygates list of applications. Do I need to find those files in my computer and force the firewall to allow them thru? Not sure how to do it but I'm sure I'll figure it out. This is one I'm planning to share. Seeder.jpg I just painted it last week. ![]() Thanks again for your help. BTW....great avatar! Last edited by dalez43155; September 7th, 2006 at 07:05 PM. |

![]() Nice pic! Which softw did you use? If the problem is not your software firewall then it's probably your modem/router which generally have internal NAT firewalls. See section 2 & 3 about setting up UPnP, or else if your device doesn't support it well or at all, forward a port for LW: Connection problems? (section 2 & 3, but recheck 1) Check here first!
