Default Needs more sources!

Everytime I try to download a song I keep getting 'needs more sources' i just installed XP Pro SP2 the other day from 2000 pro, and it's been annoying me that i can't download anything. I know the files aren't fakes...i read the link on fake files, it seems like my schools connection or firewall is slowing it down. I need some serious help!

How do you know they are not fakes? Fakes will show up as the right size, right name, etc. But usually show up in very high numbers. As I just explained here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=61247

To test to see if the problem is your school, try an experiment by downloading a magnet link from here http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml
If successful then those files you earlier selected were probably fakes.

Yeah still saying the same thing, I'm wondering if it's my machine, but that wouldn't make much sense seeing that Limewire worked flawlessly when I still had 2000 Pro on it. The school is not the case my roomate and neighbors are all using it without problems.

Default Connection Woes

Hi there,

Recently I just updated to Windows XP Pro SP2 and installed Limewire 4.12.6 previously I had Windows 2000 Pro and Limewire 4.10. Needless to say I was forced to update due to moving into a new college after transferring out of my last one. I had been at home proir with 2000 Pro and a DSL connection on wireless for my desktop. Since I have come to school not only have I A) Updated my OS to get onto the internet, B) changed versions of Limewire and C) Am now hooked into a LAN on an ehternet card, my downlods have been horrifically slow and problems keep cropping up...

The main one is my stinking connection. When i installed 4.12.6 I chose the option of T1 as my connection. Now when I try to download something, the connection starts off at full then drops to nothing at all, then creeps back up to full speed, then drops again. What the heck is going on?

Can someone give me some insight into this?

If you have XP SP2 then it might be worth applying one of these patches: MS & 3rd party patches

I have tried both things LOTR and still nothing is working. I have a feeling that the school's server is blocking programs such as these from running but I am not entirely sure.
