why no bitrate or length showing on list of downloadables? I posted my question in the subject. Why does everything on the list of audio files that comes up in response to, say, ****'s "the ***s" not have any bitrate size or length? confused..... Duncan |
Right click on the column header, go down to Audio... you'll see options like bitrate, length, comments etc etc. Tick whatever you want to show;) |
Thanks birdy But I already have all that figured out. What's happening is that no numbers are showing in those columns. How can that happen with hundreds of possible downloads - all showing no "length". try this download for yourself and see what I mean: title:Oh, *** (or "***") artist: **** thanks, Duncan |
Looks like the files are junk. You'll notice that if you hover the mouse over the files, the info is all the same...for every version of the file!! That is so suspicious;) Forget these. There are a lot of fake files around now. Search again. Vary your search terms - look for artist or album rather than song title. Try the All Types search. Stay away from the files with huge numbers of sources, try a file with 10 sources or less, or even a file with a single modem source (even though the files with a single modem source in this case look like fakes too). If you search for both artist and song title, you're more likely to see this spam:( If something looks weird about the search results, take notice of it... it's often a pointer to crappy files! Check out the links below about recognising fake files http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...98&postcount=4 Could you edit out the artist & song title please, we're not allowed to discuss copyright infringement Forum Rules |
Late but better than never. Files from some client programs don't seems to show bitrates. But also, I think some may lose the bitrate information in their hash somewhere along the way. I don't know if this is a non-compatibility between gnutella client hash info or what. I've never been able to figure that out. What clients am I refering to? Off-hand I can't remember, but I think both BearShare & Morpheus are guilty of this. I might be wrong. |
