Default Firewall Problem

Limewire says I'm behind a firewall even when I disable my firewall. I use the windows firewall. This problem started once I moved my computer to my college dorm. Before, at my house, it worked fine. However, people at my college in the same dorm I'm in can download music so I don't think it's the school disabling the sharing of music.

At http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ it said the test worked. I have already completed the firewall configuration instructions and deleted NIV from my computer since it was an older version and it seems NIV has lots of problems with LW.

I use windows XP, windows firewall, 1gb ram, 40gb hard disk avail, internet through ethernet at school(cable ?), using limewire 4.12.6 and java 1.5.0_02, IE as ISP, the test at http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ worked, and yes i see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface.

any help is appreciated, i have no idea what to do...

Thanks,
Ryan

Looks like your java needs updating, Do that first.
Then if your dorm mates are using LimeWire Check What port they are using
and make it the same.
Some schools block commonly used P2P ports.
To check what port LimeWire is using. In LimeWire Click tools/options/advanced/firewall config. Change port here
Listen on port, no.. ***** must be the same as manual port faward no...***** Range between 30000 n 50000
if that dont work LIST your com setup.
And someone will dig deeper into the prob
