Ok, Ive been using the newest version of limewire about 6 weeks and have had downloasds at about 250-500kbs... Im using a wireless connection in the state of maryland which uses its own broadband internet service.... Ive used hotel and free public wifi as well as Easton Marland utilities broadband service.. everything was working fine till i got a error message oneday saying that limewire needs to download a patch that will fix slow download speeds... around the same time i installed a phony codec called *strodec* which infected my computer with a malware grayware as well as a trojan... ever since then every time i start downloading files they peak at a total of 230kps and then slowy work there way down to 0.0kps.. then the download staus displays *aborted* one after the other until all ten downloads are the same.. Then i start getting these internal error messages saying limewire has become unstable and is possible for limwire to recover on its own.. usually one error messge per abortet file..this problem started off slowly only happening every three or for hours... now it hapens within my first five minutes of starting limewire... At first i thought i was trying to download to many big files at once.. so i started reducing my total downloads at once and it seemed to work but the problem only progressed afer awile, even at one download at a time... i went to norbies world and downloaded pc chillin and removed all the errors and disabled the firewalls until there was no more brick wall.. everything is running smoothly (all popups GONE) except limewire... I left out that i downloaded one 700mb avi file that wiped out my sound card drivers and allways caused an error with windows explorer causing it to close within the first 10 secs of execututing the file.. My theory is that out of the bad .avi file or the the phony codec.. one has somehow infected me with somthin (probablly with the download patch for limewire prompt) that halts downloads and causes internal errors for limewire.. If you have any suggestions or know any errors or virii of this nature and can offer me assistance please do.. thank you!
