Let me expalin a bit abour my computer first
3.06ghz processor
hyper threading
1024 memory
600gb (4 hard drives)
internet service provider tiscali
tested internet speed came up as 2010kbp/s-5000kbp/s
which is reasonable as i have 2mb broadband
download 506kbp/s a sec
reasonable
i have limewire pro(latest)

Now the problem
I have read all the above sticky and did all of that but i only receive 1kb/s-4kb/s.
Now i have heard that tiscali was the problem. i phones tiscali they said that its not them and that best chances are with your computer. I am a computer expert so i know all the fancy gadgets in xp service pack 2 and i have done that but now the maximum i receive is 8kb/s which give me the idea that its limewire itself. i have seen many froums unanswered when people say there downloads are slow. I would be really grateful if someone can help me out with limewire settings and what i should do from STEP 1 and how to do it. that way it can help me and other people. i have read the sticky and they dont make no difference to my computer except decrease my searches.:eek: if we still cant find the answer then i will fax limewire once and for all to find the problem and i will write the solution here.:idea:

Tiscali are most likely lying to you. They do shape bandwidth for p2p programs in most areas they run services.

Also as a test, try downloading a magnet link from http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml
If you get slow speeds then you are almost guaranteed to be shaped by Tiscali whilst you're using p2p programs.
You should be able to get over 200 KB/s from that site.

your absolutly correct. i just tried limewire at 3 oclock in the morning and i got a download speed of 7610kb/s. i dont know if that loads or not but it better then 1kb/s. thanks mate:tease:
