Lost all progress downloads

Hi,
I have lost all my downloads that were in progress, I downloaded Winamp so I could preview avi files. After I rebooted I started up Limewire (latest version) and I had lost all my incomplete files from the bottom panel, so I redirected the file and found them all again. But they all have no progress % on them , I was back to 0 % progress!!!! . Do I have to start again... this is the second time I've had this problem. I have dumped winamp and did a system restore to clear anything that may have downloaded with it. I couldnt work it at anyway. Also all my downloads had awaiting sources straight away, there was no connecting at all .WT?
Any ideas on the progress loss guys??
Thanks :-)

If & only if you're using LW 4.12 can you resume them from where they were. If your system crashes or some other reason that caused it, going to the Library window, selecting incomplete files & pressing Resume will force them back into the download window. If they start downlding they will resume from where they were. But may show zero % until they do start downlding again.

However, in earlier versions of LW they would always start from zero % after resuming.

Thanks Lord, we'll wait and see if this happens because now all I get is awaiting sources straight away... only maybe 2 connects even though I have set it at 10 at a time. then they all just sit there and dont move. It was fine before the other stuff happened... I have followed the tips about deleting the limewire in applications data etc... to no avail... Am i missing something? :-)

Concentrate on specific files & search their topic again. Try that & see how it goes. One way to see if there's problems is go to the LW Library, incomplete folder & if any are red, it means there may be problems. Perhaps a leftover from a much earlier version of LW.

They are all red!! Most were downloaded on the current version which is the lastest.. should i just scrap the lot and start again?

Doesn't sound good. Tell you what. Go to LW's Library window & select the incomplete folder. Arrange by size by clicking or double-clicking the size column. Then delete those that are zero or less than 30 KB. But you should also delete the same from the downld window for best performance.

There's still the off-chance one (or many more) of those incompletes in red will continue once you search the sources & find the right one. I've had red ones start downlding before. But better to concern it with those already partially downlded than those that have had 1% or less than downlded.

Thanks again Lord, I have deleted 0% from both files. I've notice this morning that even though the ones I had with a % are still 'awaiting sources', in the search part I have a few open (downloading) files, so I'm thinking the program is at least recognising them, it's just not actaully downloading atm...

Files Curropted andf progress set to zero...

I have a similar problem in a similar vein....

Limewire 4.12.6 crashed, my system yet again (I have just moved from the now deceased ed2k)...However I am normally just select resume in my incomplete folder and all is well..But not this time...

Those files that were nearly/were 100% grew in size and were reported as having a disk problem...Okay, go to the Incomplete folder and manually use WinRAR to try to fix the archieves and other softs to repair the MPEGS....

However the majority of files appear to have suffered a far worse fate...they have reset to zero...

Approach...
Attempt to redownload and see if they continue where they left off or start from the beginning (a shame - but such is life).

However they are all reporting 'awaiting connections'...Could this just be bad luck/concindence and the files will eventully be availible or are they so curropte the system no longer find sources for them???

Q:So do I keep trying or does the corruption mean I will have to physcially delete the files and then search for them again...????

Ideas anyone

Damon
