Try to download a file frome here & see what speeds you get
http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml

Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall)? Has anything changed since your speed dropped (ISP plan, hardware, LW version etc)?
Do a speed test & tell us the result:
http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?more=1

Had you been doing some heavy downloading before the speed drop? Charter have a section in their Acceptable Use Policy where they say they'll adjust a customer's account if they seem to be using an excessive amount of bandwidth
http://www.chartercom.com/site/polic...entialAUP.aspx

What are your details?

OS(Win XP etc)
LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
Modem/router brand & model
ISP
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from (home, school, student accommodation etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Is this your first try with LW
Have you tried other p2p apps & if so, do you have the same problem

Hi All,i also have the same problem here.Normally i download a mp3 speed is 100kb-130kb but now even download from 14 hosts also still very slow ( maximum 16kb)I have checked speed in speedtest and can confirm there is no firewall and changed any setting in LimeWire.

I hope LimeWire team will find out the solution as soon as possible.

Do the magnetmix test & answer the questions in post #2 (apart from the fact that you're obviously not seeing the firewall icon)

What were the results of your speed test?

Does your internet plan have a set download limit per month? Any chance that you might have gone over the limit & so had your speed reduced by your ISP?
