![]() Well like the topic says, my speeds abruptly slowed overnight. Usually i could reach 100 kB/s or atleast decent speeds like 20 kB/s. The connection was fine until one day I woke up, connected my Limewire and then the speeds refused to go beyond 5 kB/s. Uploads are even worse. I did not touch any settings during the night, and i tried changing ports and restoring default, but nothing worked. Keep in mind that I am using Limewire because my ISP throttles Bittorrent. My BT downloads are restricted to 5 kB/s, however the upload is at the usual max of 50 kB/s. After about a week into the throttling, I found out about it and started using limewire (again, I used it for a long time before I had BT). It all worked fine until this one night. Dis my ISP finally get around to blocking Limewire? The file i'm trying to download is an .iso file, as there are vey few .iso files in the network, many people try to download it. At first, i was sure it was just host overcrowding. However, before the night the speeds went up to 30 kB/s with 10 hosts. After, I am lucky to even get 5 hosts. Even then, the speed is still around 5 kB/s. I also tested with some of the more common files and they all showed similar speeds. Here is my system information: I use Windows XP SP2 I use ZoneAlarm firewall (I know this might cause problems) I have 480 MB RAM with a 800MHZ pentium 3 processor I have around 6 gigs of space left in two partitions I use DSL broadband Trying to connect from my house My ISP is TMNet (Malaysia) The http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ test worked I currently have Frostwire and utorrent on my comp. None of them are run at the same time or use the same port. There is no brick wall. My firewall is clear. So I changed nothing but the speed dropped down. Is it my ISP? Or is it in my settings? Plz help Thx. |

![]() Try these magnet links ... but try them at different times of the day to see if there's any difference in connection & speed: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml Let us know what the difference is at different times of day & compared to your other downloads at other times. |
