Default downloading movies

I'm having problems downloading movies onto dvd. The files are being saved as avi Do I need to convert them? And if so to what?

Sorry, but that didnt help me. I'm using nero. When I try and burn the CD I get a message telling me its either the wrong sort of disc, or it needs converting to a format that it can recognise.

Open up Nero Vision and place your file into there, it will transcode and burn the file...The only problem I have had with Nero Vision is sometimes the audio is not in sync with the movie, which is a common problem apparently.
If you happen to encounter this you can decode the file using a program called Super and then transfere the file to Nero..

This is the reason I went back to using dvdsanta, it's alot easier....

Sorry my fault, I thought you had 7...Take a look at the link I provided, the guys helped a member with her Nero 6 and Super...
FooloftheHill also provided step by step instructions on how to use Super...

to convert avi files to dvd, you need a program called WINAVI. it will convert avi files to dvd so you can burn to dvd.

But with WinAvi you have to purchase it if you don't want the logo in the middle of the output video, where as Super is free...
