Unhappy Cannot burn some files to CD

getting the following error message for some of my downloads while attempting to burn them to CD as Limewire defaults to windows media player.

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file"

Then the file name turns orange. never had problems before. Should I system restore. Please help. Downloads play fine on the computer but I want to burn to CD to play in vehicle.

Thanks Mister Ed

If you talk about video files then you might wanna take a look here:
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...uper+Converter

In case you're talking about audio files, then it might be possible that you have to convert certain file types in order to burn them (though I'm not sure whether the Super converter also converts audio files).
Here is a link for some free audio converter:
Nonags Freeware

Smile which program do you recommend?

Thanks for the response. While starting to burn music downloaded from limewire in windows media player, I get the following message on some of the files along with a note reading "May not fit". Then file turns orange.

ERROR MESSAGE: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file"

Which of the following software do you recommend, given the error message I received?

BonkEnc, Exact Audio Copy, Raptor Audio, Audiograbber, CDex, mp3-2-wav, dbPowerAmp MusicConverter dMC, Mp3Decode, AudioCrusher, CD'n'Go!, Mobsoft Mp3toWav.

Greatly appreciated. Mister Ed.

Unfortunately,....I haven't tested any of them so far.
But I've checked with the Super Converter, and it does also convert audio files to mp3.
The files supported are:
ac3, amr, mp2, mp3, mp4, ogg, ra, wav, wma,......and maybe some others as well.

So, my suggestion would be to try first the Super converter mentioned in my post above.....try to convert the audio file to either mp3 or wav.

If that doesn't work out, try any of the programs you can get for free at Nonags.....since they are free to download, you will only waste some time in the worst case......though I believe already with the Super converter you should have some success......

Cheers
