Default This is irritating, help please

I download and I unzip... but some files, after unzipping, I click on the "setup" icon and I get this error: "Access to the specified device, path, or file is denied."

I have this on most files, but not all. What causes this? How can I fix it?

What system do you use and do you have administrator priviledges?

Are these files from Limewire?

If so. Are these small viruslike files? (e.g. less than 1MB in size)

It's impossible to give an answer with so little detail

copy/paste the Error message into a search engine and have a look for yourself. This can be anything from your antivirus blocking the files to an incorrect entry in the registry.

Never used Windows2000, so don't really feel comfortable giving advice on fixing it.

You'll get that if it's a virus and your anti-virus takes care of it. You could also get that if your infected with a virus and it's messing with the file.

This could also happen if your not running as a superuser.
