downloaded avi plays sound but no picture
 

avi movie download was successful but media player says "error downloading codec" when i try to play it only plays sound. any ideas on how to rectify this? i also down loaded the movie in mpeg and had the same result. thanks

I'm quite sure you want nothing to do with any file that attempts to download codecs...said 'codecs' are very likely virii infested POS's

I guessing this is Windows Media Player you're talking about here.

Try VLC player. It comes with preinstalled codecs. www.videolan.org

Alternatively you can download some codecpack for windows, but it's way easier to just use VLC

ok thanks, the movie download was in windows media player format. After downloading, how do i get it to play in VLC mode? When I double click it automatically opens in windows media. Cheers

Outside of Limewire, go to the saved folder. Right-click on the file and choose "open with" and then "choose program". Then choose VLC and press OK

If you want to use VLC always then check the box that says "Always use....." before pressing OK

sorry for being blonde, but i can't find but i can't find the saved folder oustide of limewire. If i minimise everything i am just back to my screen saver with my normal folders???

Go to the library in Limewire, highlight the file and then choose explore, then minimize Limewire.

You should now have the folder open containing the file
