I used to get a lot of search results but now get hardly any. I read

'The latest versions of LimeWire will designate you as either a "Leaf" or an "Ultrapeer". If you are a leaf shielded by an ultrapeer, you will not be able to see all the search terms being sent to the network. However, if you are an ultrapeer, you will see a constant stream of search terms in the Monitor window.'

What exactly does this mean and how can I get back to getting more search results please?

This actually refers to the "show incoming searches" which you can turn on or off at the top of the monitor window. It is interesting to watch, but whether you see lots of results or a few does not actually matter. What you see there is the searches that I any any one else are making at any point in time, regardless of whether or not you are sharing any of those items.
However if you are getting only a few search results in your Search window, then you may well have a problem and that would require further investigation. If you can see an excellent connection and no wall in front of the globe in the corner of Limewire, then you should presumably have things working well.

I am only getting a few results whereas my friend who searched at the sametime got lots. At the top of mine it said 10/5275 and I got 10 results. What is the 5275?
I had a turbo connection with no wall.

I imagine you have found 5265 files LW has identified as junk and 10 that it identifies as good. You can go to options>filters>junk, and adjust the display junk option. See if that helps ..as I do not myself have a junk filter
