Being sent to a website instead of downloading!
 

Ok...I've tried to read through all the forums and have not found anything relating to the problem I have starting having so here goes... I am trying to download a program (which I have done before) and while it shows that there are well over 100 sources I am continually sent to this website: http://www.artistdirect.com/prm/red/lg/landing/0,,g%7Cpaint%20shop%20pro,00.html Any ideas on this? It doesn't matter how many different items I try (again, all have high numbers of sources) I only get sent to the above website. :confused:

You are encountering spam files I'm afraid and are often found with high numbers. .. best to go for files wih 10-20 hosts.

I wonder which version of Limewire you are using, as 4.12.6 ..the latest regular release, eliminates these tiresome files as a rule :)

Thanks Hobo. I am currently running 4.10.9 and I shall try a newer version. Darn spam...ya just can't get away from it! First time I've encountered this though...I have just over 1,000 downloads. Guess I was lucky up until now.

You probably have acquired an eye for what is a good file, but some of the more recent spam files are very well disguised.. I advise you to keep your old Limewire archived or the installer safe if you still have it .. just in case you fancy reverting to it. :):)

Although in fact 4.10.9 was the one version before 4.12.6 ... All those in between were experimental Beta versions.

Thanks for your help. I downloaded the newest version & it certainly took care of the problem. Now I'm happy again!! LOL :rolleyes_2:
