Connection level excellent, but some files wont connect well my limewire wont connect on some files even with the amount of users that have it is anywhere between 20-100+. I dont get it, cuz ive never had this problem ever since ive had limewire. My connection is turbo-charged, i have limewire pro, i do have a firewall but under it's settings, im allowing limewire connection. sometimes i'll get "unverified" files and they seem to be about 50% of the files i try to download that wont connect. And sometimes the files wont group even though they are the same exact file and filename. Anyways, i just wanted to know if there was a solution to my file connection problems, thanx |

Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Your problem is probably related to this Recognising fake files. A well discussed topic. Get into the habit of using Bitzi. |

What the link was saying is there's organisations sponsored by the likes of the MAFIAA (previously known as the RIAA & MPIA), who deliberately flood the gnutella network with spammed fake files. You'll never download them. So normally the trick is: 1. Check the file with bitzi to see if it's listed, if not, then it's either fake or hasn't been posted about; How to use Bitzi Web Lookup 2. Try choosing those with 20 or less sources. As far as your brick wall goes, it means you have a firewall problem. Did you configure your software firewall to allow LW full access? (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) Also, what brand & model of modem/router do you use? Some have internal NAT firewalls. If these support UPnP then that should be enabled. If not, then forward (open) a port. |

no matter what u do i cant seem to get that brick away on limewire.. is it suppose to be there or what? ive put limewire as accepted on my firewall list, ive even opened up the port manually, and ive even completely shut my firewall down and it still shows a brick wall there... i donno if this has anything to do with my files not connecting, becuz before i had no problems, no im getting almost every file where it cant connect... oh btw, these are video files im havin problems with, any other file doesnt have this connecting problem... |
