Exclamation Problem downloading avi, mpg, mpeg, and wma files. PLASE HELP ><

I have recently downloded a couple of different p2p downloading programs like; Shareaza, Morpheus, and Frostwire. I ended up deleting them all. Now I went back to Limewire and I have been having some issues with it. Whenever I search for files they come up with all different types including mpg, mp4, mpeg, and wma files. When I see th search results the "icon" [type] shows up as a unidentfiable icon. Only the mpg, avi, mpeg, and wma files [so far that I have noticed] have been acting this way. When I try to download these files, they go to the download tray then they sit there, and stay in the "need more sources" state. PLease help me if you have any information on this. THANKS.

Also, only files howing upwith my default player icon [realplayer, windows media player] actually download. These do not have the "unidentifiable" icon.

I don't really get what you mean by unidentifiable type. Have never seen that. Do you mean where it useally says eg. mp3 or avi

If that's the case then I would try deleting the preference folder to see if that helps. Step 2,3 and note in this thread:

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=36420

Important: When you delete the preference folder you will have to set up Limewire from scratch. You lose all settings. Also the 'days to keep incomplete files' reverts back to 7, so if you have any incompletes that you have been trying to get for a while, then copy the incomplete folder to another location before deleting, just incase something goes wrong. Then after changing the 'days to....' back, replace the (new) incomplete folder whilst Limewire is closed.

If deleting the LW prefs folder doesn't help, then try changing the default of the particular problem files back to what they should be. There's a couple of ways to do this; here's one Setting Default video app

The other is in control panels ... Admin Tools > Computer Management ...
