Can Connect, Won't Download

OK, I am baffled! I have searched this forum and Googled until my eyes bled to no avail...

I am an Independent I.T. technician and recently installed XP Home SP2 (full install; not the 'upgrade') with all updates/hotfixes on a customer's PC who was running 98SE previously. He had absolutely NO PROBLEM downloading when he had 98SE.

Here is my Problem:

My customer can connect to the Limewire network just fine, but when He presses "Download" to download a file, it does nothing. He can not download at all, yet he can connect to the Limewire network and search just fine.

Here is what I have verfied from a networking standpoint:

1) Logged in as Admin: My customer is logged onto his PC as an Administrator.
2) Windows Firewall: Currently allowing Limewire under "Exceptions" tab. Even if I completely disable the Windows Firewall, he still can not download a single file.
3) Router: No changes made to his ISPs router. As stated before, he was able to download files just fine with the same router when he had Windows 98SE installed.
4) Uninstalled/Reinstalled: I downloaded the latest stable release (4.12.6) DIRECTLY from the Limewire homepage (Limewire.com). I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, to no avail.

Here are his PCs Parameters:

1) Windows XP Home SP2: All updates/hotfixes
2) IE6: Did not upgrade him to IE7 yet.
3) WMP 10: Did not upgrade him to WMP 11 yet.

My gratitude ahead of time...

1. Normally when "nothing happens" is related to popups & the license popup. Have a look at the setting options here License requirement (click on link)

2. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Downloads & make sure slots is set to at least one or higher. Depending on internet speed plan as to how high this should be. I have mine set to 9 despite i have a humble adsl speed.

* When you said you installed all the hotfixes for SP2, I presume that included http://www.lvllord.de/?url=tools
