Exclamation "Upload Limit Reached"???

What does "upload Limit Reached" mean?

I got it in my "Monitor" from people trying to get stuff from me.

I can't seem to find this anywere in the FAQ or in this board.

Is this a LimeWire Feature I am unaware of????

Hum, maybe my cable provider is getting mad at us. LOL!!!

I guess the 70 Gigs upload and download factor has an effect...

(we get a call everymonth telling us how much we used...and we are supposed to only use 1 Gig D/L and 500 Megs U/L...LOL..guess between my puter and my roomates we kinda break that limit, huh?)

Sharing lots of stuff for lime wire...lime wire should like get rid of ads on 1.8 for me LOL.

But still using 1.7 because the ads mess up my puter..make is slower...and I've got a fast puter too! (pent. 3-750 MgZ : 580 Megs RAM: with all the goodies you can get! Hehehehehe!)

My roomate also transfers lots of stuff on Irc...

Anyways, if anyone knows what this message means...post it here or something.

Thanx 'n Junk,

ProPHet-Z

BTW: Going to get a server sometime..when I get the cash; and it will have lots of storage...like I could put a terabyte of info just for LimeWire Junk I find! LOL!!!! LimeFolks would love me for that, LOL!!!

i believe it is telling you that you don't have any more upload slots available for others to download more files from you. you can change the number of uploads by clicking tools>options>uploads>manually set max # of uploads. if this answers your question, please know that this info is certainly available in the FAQ.

You beter buy that quad(4x) P3 1.2GHZ motherboard if you want to pull that one of .

I am having big time problems with this. I see this message continuously from people trying to download from me. It says "upload limit reached" even when there are no connected uploads! I have 5 slots open that aren't even being used and it seems to be difficult for people to connect to me.

Another weird thing I've noticed is people connecting to me and attempting to download files I don't even have on my system!
For instance, one uploader is trying to get **EDIT**. I don't even have that on my hard drive, much less in my shared folder. Why does Limewire even show me as a host for that file?

Do you have your upload bandwidth limited under Tools|Options|Uploads|Basic? If so - this can also restrict the number of upload slots.

LimeWire (and gnutella clients in general) keep track of file locations by TCP/IP address. Unless you have a fixed IP - you will be assigned a new IP each time you connect to the internet.

If the new IP you are given once belonged to someone else on the gnutella network, then you will receive messages meant for them - hence wrong file queries.

[Or it could just be incorrect message routing - it happens].
