Can anyone tell this newbie why on earth are all my downloads now going in the individual shared file ????And how do I change it ??

I think you have selected in your options>sharing share recently downloaded files (or words to that effect). I prefer to check them before re-sharing. The files will still be going to your downoad/save folder, just showing up here in the Limewire library.
