erased hard drive my hard drive was recently erased due to an operating system problem. i had been using limewire for over a year and enjoyed it very much. all of my music files were lost. is there any way to retreve them? |
I'm sorry but no. It is a lesson we all learn too late, but it is essential to back up all your important files on discs or an external hard drive. There are file recovery programmes that work if files are accidentally deleted, but still remain on the drive until overwritten, but if your drive was erased, I'm afraid it is a matter of start again |
file recovery programs will most likely work to some extent as I seriously doubt you actually erased your HDD.... if you did indeed overwrite the whole drive with 0's and 1's then you have certainly lost the files, but as previously noted I doubt you did that... so go ahead and try some recovery programs...you might recover some of that lost data |
Good point. This post has a couple of useful links at the bottom which may help: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=49851 |
