1-3k downloads hi, i have used limewire for years but have changed my antivirus to bullguard v7 on talktalk and through a modem/router. I have turned off the modems firewall and bullguard is set to allow all traffic for limewire but my downloads are between 1-3k? i was using pccillin and everything was fine but alas it ran out so i turned to bullguard and god did i have problems! all seem to be ok now but downloads are rubbish from limewire.can anyone help? |
TalkTalk are known to shape bandwidth, which is probably why your downloads are so slow. A lot of people have had problems & yes, sometimes out of the blue after having no problems before;) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...light=talktalk Apparently the only shape at certain times of day, check out the thread below http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...light=talktalk |
talktalk thanks for reply, this all happened at the same time as loosing trend pccillin as my antivirus/firewall so i thought it had something to do with that as until then i was able to download at full speed but i changed to bullguard and thought the firewall on that was blocking somehow.i have emailed talktalk for an answer on this and will post their reply. again thanks. |
This was a link within one of the links I posted before, don't know if you saw it or not. It's the reply that TalkTalk sent to someone else recently http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=64467 |
reply from talktalk technical after speaking to talktalk technical (which was with a man whose english was not his first language and wasnt sure what p2p networking was and had to go ask his supervisior!!????) said that talktalk was aware that there was a problem with p2p and that they had received a larger amount of querys about it and that they were working on resolving this issue as soon as possible. (just hope its faster than putting my 2mb connection onto 8mb...9 months in and still no speedup yet!) they say they have put a note onto my account about the p2p and will see if they do anything about it. hope this helps other talktalk users for now. if you have 1-3k downloads on talktalk its definately them and not a firewall issue as i first thought i had. |
