OK Wob925, here's the instructions to port forward your router...Make sure you don't forget the static IP part it is very important (but if you have port forwarded for any other app and set up the static IP you don't have to do it again)....

wondering why December 24th, 2006 04:25 AM

jemmie I can't find any info about your modem/router and Port Forwarding at all...
What security software do you use ??

wob925 December 26th, 2006 08:45 AM

OK.. I did everything instructed and I am still only downloading at 1kb.. any other ideas? thank you....

1. OS version? Win 2K SP4
2. What firewalls you have? AVG
3. How much ram? 785,840 KB RAM
4. Hard Disk space available? 13.8 GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Modem is Motorolla SB5101 and Router is D-Link Di-524
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW Version is 4.12.6 Java Version is 1.5.0_09
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Home Telephone
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It says "PAGE CAN NOT BE DISPLAYED"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I am sharing with another PC in my house using Cat5 wires and the software Network Magic.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I just re-loaded LW when I got my cable. I used to use LW all the time when I was on dial up until I got frustrated with the download speed.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes I do now since I opened the ports. The blue bars all lit up.

Who is your ISP? edit: Time warner cable sorry I missed that part.

Try downlding a magnet link from here & tell us what happens with connecting & speed: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml

Also, open internet explorer & type into the address bar 192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.0.1 & tell us what happens.

Perhaps I missed it but are you using your connection device in ethernet or USB mode?
