Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem experienced user 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes Ok, here is my problem. One day, a few months ago, I opened Limewire and noticed that it was quite slow to connect. When it was finally connected, I only got few search results and my download speeds were very slow (No more than 5 or 6 KB/s and thats if it would even download at all). I have since then uninstalled my anti-virus software and turned off my windows firewall. When I connect to limewire, the icon indicating that I am firewalled still shows up at the bottom. I would imagine this has something to do with my HughesNet (fomerly DirecWay) service, but I couldn't figure out why this just decided to happen one day. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

![]() Rather than turn off your Windows firewall, configure it for LW Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) Does your modem support UPnP? If it does, make sure it's enabled & then choose the UPnP option in LW's tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Check out the link below for a bit of info about how to log into your modem & also there's some info about HughesNet/Direcway fair access policy...possibly why your downloads are so slow! http://www.copperhead.cc/DW7000.htm Have a look through this thread too, maybe try changing ports & deleting the preferences folder as LOTR suggests http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...ight=satellite This is all the info I could find about port forwarding for that modem, not sure how much help it's going to be ![]() http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-10610 If you use the forum search to look for HughesNet, Direcway or satellite you might find some help in older threads as well. |

P2P's. Now with the use of any p2p, my uPnP can not be mapped. And according to the last forum you showed me, the only way you can possibly foward ports with DW7000 is with a router, which I do not have nor would I have any use for other than to foward any ports. So I guess until I can get something other than HughesNet around here I'm stuck. I hate anything related to HughesNet or Direcway and would never recommend them to ANYBODY! Thank you for all of your help!! |

![]() So much for your Xmas present! Sorry, but I don't have a satellite connection so they're a mystery to me ![]() Did you try changing ports? Something between 49152 - 65535 (people have success with 64049) or port 80. I don't know if this will help you at all: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...86&postcount=4 |
