Default Download Issues

Ok, the problem is I can search and find thousands of results instantly, but when I try to download any of them, they say Queued, then Connecting..., and doesn't do anything after that. I am using a new install of Windows and i put LW on here about a week ago and was having no problems, i've been careful of what i download and i've run several different virus/spyware scans with no results. It was working fine just days ago, but now almost nothing. I tried the http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml and it worked fine too, was like woot, my downloads are working again, but while it was going at almost 300k I still couldn't get any other download to start...about 20 minutes later tho i got one to download that i had been trying and wasn't working, but no other will work and i can't even re-download that same file. Any help would be much appreciated =)

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP

2. What firewalls you have? Windows/PCCillin, but I am not running either of them

3. How much ram? 2gig

4. Hard Disk space available? 150gig

5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) DSL

6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys Wireless-G router, modem is some Bellsouth one, i think Motorola brand

7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House

8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. Limewire 4.12.6 Java 1.5.0_10

9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Bellsouth

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it worked

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. There are 3 other computers on my wireless, but no one else uses any p2p, and LW is the only one I use

12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I've used LW for years, but have had this problem in the past

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes

This really sounds like it's just a fake file / Spam issue

Try reading through this guide:

I've already read through all the guides and the first 10 pages or so of the forums, i've used LW for years, i know how to use it, and i know how to get around most issues with it, but this is a new one to me, i can't download anything at all if i find it within LW's search engine

I'm not sure how to fix it yet, but here's what's been happening to me:

Recently, I'll start LW and there's a brick wall in front of the globe (showing that I have a firewall problem).

I've been using LW for a while now, and I've never had any firewall issues. I have my McAfee firewall configured to allow LW access to the internet, and I have my Windows XP firewall turned off.

After a few minutes, however, the brick wall disappears and I'm back to downloading as usual...

Try some magnet links from Bitzi to see if they work. Was the firewall icon always there?

Also getting rid of the firewalled icon might help. Most likely the firewall being picked up is in your router.

www.portforward.com has guides on how to do this for many routers.
