I have gotten used to the fact that Limewire has its 'slow' and 'fast' periods (at least for me). But now it has been slow for several days, and I'm getting pretty annoyed.

Even when there are supposedly 20+ hosts available I can only download from a few of them at extremely low speeds (1-20 kb). As if that wasn't bad enough the download speed frequently drops to 0 kb and stays there for a while (I lose my hosts), before the download starts again, like it's constantly searching for another host. The most frustrating part is that this is happening without any apparent reason. The only explanation I can think of is that the server might be too busy, but that doesn't explain the consistent and huge difference between 'fast' and 'slow' periods.

Does anyone what might be causing this?

Limewire doesn't have a server, it's a p2p program that connects you to millions of other computers around the world....
Your issue sounds like it could be a ISP one...
