Is your firewall configured properly to allow Limewire to run behind it??

First of all, try changing ports...that fixed the prob for 1 lucky person
In LW go tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Change LW's listening port to one in the range of 49152 - 65535 (say 64049) > apply. Any ports forwarded thru a router must be the same number as LW's listening port!

Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall in front of the blue globe) & if so, has it always been there?
What's the brand & model of your router? Are you using it with UPnP enabled, ports forwarded or neither?
that just worked Cheers

Default Definitely Tiscali!

Hi all,

I am experiencing the same problem, I have been with tiscali for the last 4 months, and limewire worked perfectly all day everyday, then I moved house so I have been without tiscali broadband for 2 months now and have been using the neigbours wireless network to conect to their broadband (yes they knew:>) ) limewire works on this - (AOL).

Yesterday my tiscali account was finally moved to my new house and phone number, whereby I promptly discovered that I could not connect to Limewire, I initially thought it was a temperary glitch as you get occasionly, so I tried again and again and then on my wifes laptop which also used to work. Still no luck.

So I reconnected my computer to the neighbours broadband, and limewire instantly connected with the fastest connection?? no wall infront of globe. I then switched straight back to Tiscali and the wall reappeared and it would not connect?

I think tiscali has put some sort of firewall up to stop people connecting to limewire through the usuall port.

I'm about to start tinkering with the port settings, failing this i will ring Tiscali and as to terminate my broadband service, even though I'm only four months into a year contract! has anyone done this before? how did they take it??

Regards,

Dan
