I reinstalled LW but the same thing is happening and haven't changed anything with my firewall either (I tried downloading with my firewall off and got the same result). I can't think of anything I might have changed to cause this effect... |

Hi Kushdili. This link should help you, there are many good links, thanks to Lotr. Pay attention to BITZI link, Bitzi is your best friend, learn to use it n it will save you a lot of waisted time. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=63993 Now you say you changed nothing, If you reinstalled L/W then you may need to reset your options, and firewall port settings. Is your XP firewall turned off ? Sometimes you just have to delete Permisions in Norton, Then re apply. Let us no how it goes. Also check this link. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=63993 Peace.

Download Problems Continue.... My OS is exactly set up as the one mentioned above. I am having the very same problem and have been using LW for quite some time, only a couple days ago I noticed that files having the highest percentage of hosting with high speed connections were not being downloaded to my PC at rapid speeds as in the past. After a long wait of about 60 seconds, the status would change from "connecting" to "searching more resources" but the resources fail to appear and the whole entire transfer process is void. I have done nothing different and have checked all of my LW settings. Everything is the same as before but still not able to download files, which should download instantaneously with my high speed connection. I have written to customer service twice and here is the response given, which is not satifactory at all. I hope someone in the forum can help to correct this issue. I paid for the LW Pro service and would expect to get my money's worth.....thanks all! ===================================== Cusomer Service Reply ===================================== LimeWire is software that allows users to connect directly to other users' computers, via the Gnutella network, and share files with them. It is not a music service, we do not have any members, nor do we make any such indication, anywhere on our website. We have no foreknowledge of, nor control over, what users decide to share over the Gnutella network, we do not place any files on the network for users to download, nor do we make any guarantee that you will find the files you are searching for. Firewalls are not the cause of every LimeWire issue. "Need more sources" is already addressed in our FAQ: http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...faq.shtml#dow1 Please provide a clear, detailed description of your problem, so I can better assist you. In addition, if you are getting an error message, you will need to include it in your response, exactly as it appears on your screen, as well as the exact moment at which you received the message. P.S. Just wanted to point out that I tried the method of avoiding fake files by downloaded the resources with less than #15 resources and still continue to have the same exact problem. The status goes to "connecting" and after a long waiting period of about 60-90 seconds the status changes to "need more resources." I tried the Blitzi download to help sort out the problem incase of fake or corrupted files, but still see no changes with the LW downloads. Any other ideas on what could be wrong? |

wow, thanks for the fast help, this is the first time I've ever posted anything and the quick response was unexpected! I tried bitzi, my windows firewall has been off the whole time, and I even turned off my norton firewall. I have a lot of experience fishing through search results for bad files, and ALL of them don't work, even when I attempt to download every single search result (as a test), I get the same problem. I did get one or two files to work, but they take hours for a file that used to take less than a minute even though there are a lot of hosts for it. hmmmmmm |

ok, so, I am going to look up my router settings as soon as I get the password for it. But I just found out that my internet connection was replaced with a dedicated IP, could that be the problem? I also took my laptop to a coffee shop and used their internet connection but got the same problem, so it must be something with my computer right? |
