Default I'm getting closer I believe

Birdy, first of all I must thank you for replying so quickly and thoroughly. You have kept my dream alive of getting back on...lol...Seriously though I'm grateful to have your help. I tried everything you did but still had no luck. But I have definitely narrowed the problem down to my firewall, as I just went to the Windows firewall option and turned it off then tried to restart Limewire and Voila! It worked no problem, all the way up to Turbo, Limewire on ******. Now I"m not sure what to do as I have made sure the Exceptions Tab does allow Limewire and yes it is checked off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for keeping my hope alive, its like they say you don't know what you've got til its gone and I'm joansing to get back on to Limewire.

Cheers

Are you sure you don't have any other firewalls running, apart from the XP one?

Go right back through the firewall instructions (the link I gave in another post)...start from scratch & do everything again. Reconfigure the thing. See if that helps.

How do you have your router set up (UPnP enabled, port forwarded or neither)? When you got a turbo connection...did the firewall icon go away? If you didn't notice at the time (too excited by the turbo maybe), turn off the XP firewall for just a minute & see what happens with the firewall icon once you've got a good connection.
