How do you pay for Pro

Three times my friend and I tried to buy pro. Over two different cards and three attempts all were rejected even though there were no problems with the cards or mistakes with the numbers.
What is going on. Don't you guys want to sell your product. We are still willing to buy if you can get your system working properly.
Please respond to mikescanes@hotmail.co.uk

I recall some problems with overseas verifications, but will see if perhaps the biz person at LW will respond.

Oh--email addresses shouldn't be posted here.

limenathan February 26th, 2007 02:28 PM

...just PMed.

Dbear27 February 26th, 2007 07:18 PM

Don't pay, problems will come your way

Do some further research, I like many other on this forum are scrounging info because once we bought PRO it stopped working on my computer. I can't connect and you WILL NOT recieve help from support. I've sent over 20 emails all unanswered. Keep what you've got and be happy you have something.

Cheers:shoot:

Dbear27,

Pro works like a charm for heaps of people.
If you want help with your LW Pro, you could ask for it here:blink:

Where did you buy Pro from? The official site is www.limewire.com (just that some people buy from a scam site & then get all pissed-off because the official site won't acknowledge their emails).

Dbear27 February 26th, 2007 07:47 PM

I'm sure it does work for some

Thanks Birdy,

Yes, I assume it does work for a number of people, but my frustration with it has cast a rather large pale. I have enjoyed Limewire for years and when I upgrade to PRO I lose. It's rather bothersome because as I said I found it to be a blast and kept me out of my wife's hair...lol... I have been searching through this forum with the hopes of figuring it out but so far no luck. Hopefully I will find the yellowbrick road over the Brickwall soon.
Cheers

When you changed over to Pro, was it just an upgrade (ie the same version number that you'd been using when you had basic) or did you update to a newer version of LW as well?

It's a good idea to delete LW's preferences folder after up*******upgrading...give that a try, it won't hurt anything. You'll just have to go back through LW's options & reset things afterwards. See point 3 below for instructions. If you've used much older versions of LW in the past, you could have a folder in point 2's location as well...so check in both places.
Fixes for LimeWire

Double check your XP firewall config, just to make sure nothing's changed.
Firewall setup

Your router has an internal firewall. If the router supports UPnP, make sure it's enabled & then use the UPnP option within LW's tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Apply > ok. Give it 15 mins & then see if the brick wall is gone.

If that doesn't do the trick, it's time to port forward. Use the instructions here
http://www.portforward.com/english/r...4/Limewire.htm

Don't forget to set up a static IP address first...otherwise port forwarding won't work;)
Also, the port number forwarded, number of LW's listening port & the number in the 'manual port forward' box all must be the same.

Sometimes changing to a new version can give you firewall probelms where there weren't any before:)

I'm getting closer I believe

Birdy, first of all I must thank you for replying so quickly and thoroughly. You have kept my dream alive of getting back on...lol...Seriously though I'm grateful to have your help. I tried everything you did but still had no luck. But I have definitely narrowed the problem down to my firewall, as I just went to the Windows firewall option and turned it off then tried to restart Limewire and Voila! It worked no problem, all the way up to Turbo, Limewire on ******. Now I"m not sure what to do as I have made sure the Exceptions Tab does allow Limewire and yes it is checked off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for keeping my hope alive, its like they say you don't know what you've got til its gone and I'm joansing to get back on to Limewire.

Cheers:hellooo:

Are you sure you don't have any other firewalls running, apart from the XP one?

Go right back through the firewall instructions (the link I gave in another post)...start from scratch & do everything again. Reconfigure the thing. See if that helps.

How do you have your router set up (UPnP enabled, port forwarded or neither)? When you got a turbo connection...did the firewall icon go away? If you didn't notice at the time (too excited by the turbo maybe:D), turn off the XP firewall for just a minute & see what happens with the firewall icon once you've got a good connection.
