can open everything except "programs" i used to be able to download programs and run them fine, but now i get this message after i try to launch the program. "LimeWire will not launch the specified file for security reasons" now i am fine if it is warning me not to download this specific file for security reasons, but it happens to every program i try to download. whither it's a game, format converter, or whatever. so can somebody help me? i would just fork out the $20 or so for the games i like or programs i need, but i feel i could be saving a decent amount of money. any suggestions? thanks |
ok so i just ran my virus scan on my limewire and it said that the format converter i tried to download had a trojan on it. i fixed it, but i am much more skeptical about whither i should download programs or not. |
Well,, by downloading programs (i.e. exe and zip/rar files) you're actually playing Russian Roulette. In most of the cases you'll get invested by all kind of viruses and trojans. The saving of $20 can cost you in the end an amount that is ten fold for just getting your computer fixed. :Smilywais: |
yeah, i thought limewire was safe of that stuff, but i downloaded a few programs from limewire, and my anti-virus programs recognized that they had trojan stuff and other bad stuff on them so no more downloading programs i guess. |
