problem is flying high
Default Slow downloads, 70 hits

I am currently trying to get a VERY popular tv show...can't say which but when ever i search it i get about 70 hits for the video i want..so i click download. so on average how quick does this file move? 10 kbs, i have maxed it out to 30 kbs (hard core speed) yet there are 70 hits which are NOT fake.

whenever i search more it still sits there at 10 to 20 kbs getting me steamed up as it says 4 hours remaining...

What is going on with the network? everything is getting slower!!!

P.S it is not my internet, i tryed another download from http://www.magnetmix.com/ and it happily sailed at 50kb, still not max but good enough.

Try port forwarding and getting rid if that brick wall, it will definatley have an effect on your speed...
Follow the instructions carefully....

If i do all what it sugests, create a static I.p and all...could i still be able to use a direct modem? not a wireless one, as whenever no one wants to use the internet i plug that thing in...works perfectly no brick wall.

You won't have a problem, the static IP comes in very handy, once one is made you wont have to make another again, so when ever you have to port forward again for a different app it will be a case of just opening a port...

This will not effect any other moden you use...

Static i.p: up and running

Port Forwarding: no brick wall, imporved speed (120kbs, my max)

Added bonus...my web browsing doesn't leave me hanging when i try to go from page to page ( i don't have to press refresh to get there!)

Cheers!

The last post by 'problem' states that everything is working fine! He solved the problem! He is now going to have to change his name!

Please stick to one thread with your problem. Posting in multiple threads isn't likely to get you an answer any faster. If someone can help and wants to, they will. Just be patient...the problem may solve itself...you never know.

Ye i solved it but it was a simple wirless router situation.

what you also have to think about is the number of hosts the file has, how many other people are downloading that file (all though with 130 hosts....) internet traffic, during the day my speed of net drops to about 600-700kbs
