Files in limbo please help

I just recently installed visa 32x. I was downloading some files and realized that i was sending the files to the wrong folder. I changed the default download folder to my music folder. When I went to go transfer the file that where already in there manually, my download folder disapeared. The wierd thing is that limewire tells me they are still there. but widows can't find them when i do a search. I tried doing a reinstall, system retore,and cursing at my pc But nothing has work so far. Please help me
