Default Any 'Name' column standards after search results?

After my song searches; there seems to be no standard with what song titles or music artists are displayed. All these unusual names or misspellings or number codes within the titles make it awkward to view the search results.

Where do all the 'Name' column titles come from after a song search? From all of us who offer the sharing? Do each of us sharing; type those titles ourselves?

Being a new user/sharer of LimeWire; that 'Name' column seems like a free-for-all for whatever title someone typed. Some kind of standard would really help.

Hi Bumblebee.
USE BITZI LOOKUP
when you see a file in search you want, avi, mpg, n so.
Right click/advanced/look up file with BITZI, if its not reported on leave it, till it is,
Now music, is not so easy,
The Newer they are, the more careful you must be.
The record companys are putting swarms of fakes on the network,
Take note of size, Songs less than 2000kb with 128kb bitrate must be less than two mins.
THINK!!, how long is the song Im looking for ?
so what size SHOULD it be,
If it dos'nt have a bitrate! LEAVE it,
Scan every File befor OPENING them
Dont D/L exe, rar, zip,or wma files. I am expert at using LimeWire & I dont touch them they are 99.9% viruses.
We only use these for testing antivirus programs.

Ah; some new information. Thanx!

But I'd still like to know where all the 'Search Result' typos, misspellings & weird descriptions come from? Can those be corrected from the senders end?

Shouldn't there be some conformity or a standard; so the search result entries won't be so messy?

Hi Bumblebee.
In some cases, Its just many people from many nations strugling with the english language,
Hey Im english & I struggle with it, What to speak of others.

Beacuse spammers have put out so many fake & virus files on the network
users have invented code words to search for, rather than searching for the
title of what they want. There are many websites out there that have these
code words, People dedicated to open information sharing have learned this, and are rearly clogged with spam.
Good sites you have to regester,so if a spammer, tries to abuse the site, The resedent Hacker will turn there server to jelly.

Everyone can cut Spam resolts by 50% In one minit flat, Just simpley ADD
.exe,.rar,.zip,.mov, to the word filter. For newbies, I would also add .wma as
there is a hidden dialer in some est..20% of them,

"Can those be corrected from the senders end ?"
Yes!! but can I ask how many have you botherd to correct, Its not brain sciance,
In L/W Library highlight a bad title, click on explore, (right bottom corner), This brings up windows folder, outside of L/W right click file,
choose properties, then fill in correct info.
This is best done with L/W closed, because if someone is downloading the file
You are trying to re'title, you will just get errors.

The search resolts will be less confusing if we take the time to report on the
GOOD & BAD files alike. 2 mins it takes!!
You find a file you like, D/L it, (leaving the search in place) check it with AntiVirus prog,
check that its complete, well titled, good quality, then come back to search, right click again on file/Advanced/
Look up file with BITZI.
Now if the file has not been reported on, You will come to a page that says
"Bitprint Not Found" NOW!! in the middle of the page you see the word "Bitcollider" Underlined & Blue in color.
DownLoad it, Use It, this is a small program that lets you report on files,
this program coppies the first 30 or so bites of the file you are reporting, eg..urn:sha1:ZKPRJPVFR7RUSUKRZW2QPBVUZHSFHTBY

Now!! this is a unique fingerprint, so if you have corectly & completly titled it
& of corse REPORTED it, whatever people change the name to after that, it
will still come up with the correct name for the file when people look up the file with BITZI.
So lets put something back n say thanks for all the files
Contribute to open information sharing USE BITZI.
AAA here's the link.
http://bitzi.com/bitcollider
Peace.

Hi mickjapa108,

Now I see why you mentioned Bitzi Lookup in the 1st thread. We all can be helping the naming conventions; each time we use Bitzi to rate good or bad files. And yes; I have noticed that .wma files are too small to be a complete song (above 2,000kb).

I've also taken the good advise of filtering keywords, .exe, .rar, .zip, .mov, and .wma. Most of my searches have come up with .MP3 (so I try to stick with them for now).

And I'm not a good speller of my own language either. Being new to this music sharing; I had an expectation of some standard for our search results. Welcome to duh REAL world, huh? Some of these sharers of mass amounts of files cannot be chasing every typo. I didn't think about that.

Now for correcting my own song titles; I have not always corrected mine, on the spot; but have done so in a day or so within L/W. But that's just the way I'm wired. Thanx 4 suggesting that it be done OUTSIDE of L/W; that makes better sense to use WIN Explorer to 'Rename'.

Finally; I don't know where to find 'these' websites that have "invented code words to search for"? I would like to be enlightened please.

I think the experience & advise from all of you, "in the know"; FAR outweighs a few typos. Thank you for putting up wit me.
