I have LM as an exception in my firewall but still nothing. I can see where people are trying to D/L but it never happens. |
If the router supports UPnP, enable it & choose the UPnP option within LW's tools > options > advanced > firewall config. See if the brick wall goes away. When you port forwarded before, did you use these instructions? http://www.portforward.com/english/r...R/Limewire.htm Did you set up a static IP address first? You'll need to. Go through those instructions again. Remember that the port forwarded within the router, LW's listening port & port number in LW's 'manual port forward' box must all be the same number. |
Verizon says I have to pay for a static IP |
Your ISP don't have to set up this static IP for you. All you need to do is to set up a static IP for the computer that you're trying to connect with, so your router can recognise it. I have a static IP set up so that I can port forward. But I still have my normal dynamic IP address. If you go through those port forwarding instructions that I gave you, you'll see there's a link to follow with instructions for setting up a static IP on your computer. Just follow that link & you'll see what you need to do;) |
OK Thanks Birdy!! I appreciate all of the help! |
