Help help and help (files won't download)
 
I have just installed limewire basic 4.12.11 on a windows xp pro edition comp P4 3.06ghz 512mb ram and I want to download music or videos and it only gives me search results it wont let me download I tried turning off firewall didnt work I made exception to firewall and didnt work I tried installing pro didnt work is not letting me download anything at all. Please help I tried looking at options but nothing that says that its blocking anything so what do I do and no no pop ups coming up or anything I have used limewire in the past and well I havent used it in a while but i have never seen this type of problem with any p2p program I have used

1. OS version? Windows XP professional
2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall
3. How much ram? 512
4. Hard Disk space available?50gb
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) dsl 256kb
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Westell
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. lw v 4.12.11 java 1.5.0_08
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Bellsouth
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? your test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. None
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. new problem with exp user
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?yes

Answered these question to the best of my knowledge

Ok firstly go to Tools > Options > Searching > Lisence warning and make sure the box is not ticked....

Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall your Java and then download the latest JRE offline installer http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp

Once that is done we need to get rid of that firewall, can you have a look underneath the modem/router for the model number of your Westell..

Ok can you log into your modem (all info in instructions) and follow the steps and see if limewire is listed....

AHHHHHH...I am so sorry I have just figured out that the c90-610030-06 is the Westell 6100....

So scrap eveything that I have posted in the last 2 posts :o and follow the instructions from here....
