![]() Check files with Bitzi before download. How to use Bitzi Apart from being infected, lots of program files are misnamed. Even those that aren't will probably be useless anyway...they'll need an activation/registration code to run. You're probably better off buying the program ![]() |

![]() Hey, Zak... Yup- Bitzi is great... BUT, it only works if we (users) feed it with accurate info. birdy's comments are pretty much spot-on ! As a general rule it is best to avoid the BIT-Download garbage... I can say that I have a 100% record with them... Every one just plain con, come-on and crap... You will normally suffer with them... Suffer LARGE ! Avoiding them is usually very easy as there are almost always alternate sources available... and, as wisely mentioned, some apps are really best to buy ! sri ! ![]()

![]() The keyword filter won't help much in this case, as the file was misnamed...the file showed up in your search results under a different name & it wasn't until you opened it that you found out. Bitzi's your best bet for checking things like that. As ursula said, you can rate files yourself too...if you go to that Bitzi link in my post, you'll see a link to download Bitcollider. You can use that to describe files you've downloaded & submit the info to Bitzi. If you rate that file that you've just downloaded, the info will help other people who are thinking of downloading it ![]() The keyword filter's great for blocking spam (ringtones, sponsored results etc), but it'll block words that actually show up in search results, not things that only show once you open a file. Check below for more info about the filter. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...3&postcount=17 |
