![]() I have recently downloaded a film through Limewire and tried to play it using WMP. I have had a similar problem before when the sound played but no picture. When I clicked on the icon to increase the screen size a WMP image started playing. I have the sound but not picture. WMP stated at the start that it was acquiring the codec and that one had been acquired. But when I look at the properties of the file it says that it is just an audio file. Can I change this? I have downloaded Wimamp programme but I had the same problem. I have saved the file on my computer and it states that it is a video file. So I think that it is... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Scottishdane ![]() |

![]() There's a program called GSpot that can tell you what codecs you need to play a particular file. For WMP, K-Litecode Codec Pack gets recommended a lot. I use XP Codec Pack 2.0.6 and rarely have any trouble playing a file. You could also d/l another media player. VLC media player is a good one that has the codecs built in and will play most file types. More info here: CODECs list for Movies /Alternate players / Video help forums Setting Default video app
