Red "X" on Search tab and nothing returned - 4.12.11

I just downloaded 4.12.11 after reformating my drive. When trying to search for something simple like the artist "Evanescence" the search tab has a red "X" in it next to the name of the artist I'm searching for and nothing is returned! What am I doing wrong? Earlier versions of LimeWire didnt do this...
