Private IP Addresses

I have purchased Limewire Pro, but had the same problem with Limewire's free download.

Any file available for download that is behind a private IP address, 10.x.x.x, 172.x.x.x, or 192.168.x.x will not download. Period. There are no exceptions to this.

Is the new client broken or what the heck is going on?

Force IP

I'm running a firewall and have d/l from other people with firewalls.

You have to Force your IP address
Tools>Options>Advanced.

To find you IP address in windows

Start>Run ...type "winipcfg" without the quotes >Enter

Hope this helps:)

That wont work! By running winipcfg you will just get the IP number of your computer inside of the firewall. To get the real IP number (The IP number of the network card that is connected to the outside net on the firewall computer) you can go to:

Hi

I always use winipcfg to get my IP, but thought I better check this out.....

So I went to 'whatismyip' & 'winipcfg' just now.

And got the same result in both places :)

So neither of us are wrong

high (who forgot his password)

Good for you that it work either way! :)

In most cases when your having a firewall your often have multiply computers on a private net that all can communicate with internet through the firewall. In that case the firewall would have the correct IP (that you need to force to) and all the computer on the private net will have a IP number that doesnt exist on Internet (such as 192.168.x.x or 10.0.x.x). So if you should run winipcfg on one of those computers you would just get 192.168.x.x wish isnt correct :(, therefor I suggest you always check with a site such as www.whatismyip.com to avoid yourself some hazzle :).
