Strong Connection, nothing downloads though I've been using Limewire for a few years now, and most of my problems are minor; usually corrupt files or garbage. But recently I had to format my computer and redownload everything pretty much. I can start up Limewire fine and dandy, I have a strong connection, my Firewall is setup to allow Limewire access as far as I can tell, I can search normally, lots of results come up, but when I double-click to download, it shows up in the Downloads as connecting for several minutes before doing nothing and then says Need More Sources, when I try to get it to find sources, it says connecting again. Then it changes to Waiting xxxs for Sources then Awaiting sources permanently. I don't know what the crap to do! Please help. I have Norton 2007 I think. |
If you're sure you're not seeing fake files, Fake files showing up in search results and if absolutely everything you try to download gives you the connecting/need more sources message, delete your preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 below (also point 2 if you've used much older versions of LW in the past). Fixes for LimeWire This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through later & reset things to the way you like them. |
I was having the same problem, but then I found a fix involving fake files. When you search for a song and thousands of results appear, then it's probably spam files. Try just searching the artist, album, or song name. |
