Default Unknown Problem

Hello Everyone,

A couple of weeks ago I started noticing that my downloads would start to dribble in. Searches became much slower, downloads even worse at 1 to 2 KB/S. Now I contacted my ISP and run many independant speed tests and nothing has changed with that. Still strong at just under 6Mb/s.

Now the thing is that Limewire still dribbles in with every download I try.
The strongest and weakest connections provide the same results.
I'm sure I'm not falling for spam content as well as allowing limewire to connect.

The download works fine but is as slow as molasses. I have Norton set to allow everything but not sure if it is overriding me some how.

Could someone more experienced please advise.

OS: Windows XP SP2
Ram: 2 GB
Limewire: 4.12.11
Java: 1.5.0_06
ISP: 6Mb/s Cable

Your Java is a bit outdated try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE offline version....(5th one down)
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp...

If that still make no difference let us know...But could you also supply these details please..
What's the name of your ISP ?
What is the make and model number for your modem/router ?
Do you see a wall in front of the globe in LW ?

Hmmm...Well I'm not sure if your ISP has started to shape p2p, you could give them a ring and see...

You don't have a Nat Firewall in your Modem or Router...

So the beat I can advise you is to try all of the fixes I give you and cross your fingers one of them work...

Try one by one and see if it works...

Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE offline version....(5th one down)
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp

Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder...

Try right-clicking the Limewire icon and going to properties and change compatability setting to Windows 2000. (but only if you're using Windows 2000 or later.) Somebody reported changing to Windows NT compatibility fixed their problem despite not using that operating system version.

If all that fails try downloading the Beta Version of Limewire...
